Winner! Local Tap Water Judged Best in the World

Clearbrook (a neighbourhood of the City of Abbotsford, BC) just won the bronze medal for best municipal water in the world at the 2015 Berkeley Springs Water Tasting Competition. This international competition, held annually in West Virginia, is also known as the Academy Awards of Water. Nearly 100 waters from 19 U.S. states, 6 Canadian provinces and 6 other countries were entered into the 2015 competition.

Congratulations Clearbrook! May your water remain chlorine- and chemical-free long into the future despite growing pressures to subject municipal waters to disinfectant chemicals.

Clearbrook has maintained scrupulous control of its water supply since 1953. No chlorine, no fluoride, no chemicals added!

Although tap water in surrounding Abottsford is chemically treated and sourced mostly from Norrish Creek, Clearbrook proudly maintains its own water district and pumps its tap water supply from a pristine aquifer. The Clearbrook Waterworks District conducts frequent water quality tests and diligently maintains its water distribution system.

Gold Seal ClearbrookClearbrook has been a consistent winner in the annual international water competition. In 2008, 2009 and 2014 Clearbrook took the Gold medal in the tap water category.
