From Water Dispenser to Drinking Water Filter and Revitalizer

OVOBAR® is a strikingly elegant water dispenser.
Add the upper reservoir and the AquaCristal® filter cartridge (both shown below), and voilà!
You have the…

OVOPUR® -an offline gravity filter that replaces the need for bottled water coolers in urban environments.

Intriguingly innovative design and a resolutely green approach make the OVOPUR a real breath of fresh air in the stuffy, gray world of drinking water filters.

Energized water inspired by nature

The OVOPUR is beautifully made from  materials that fuse age-old traditions with tomorrow’s trends, incorporating natural principles that revitalize and energize water.

Environmentally friendly to the core, the OVOPUR does not require electricity, using gravity instead to filter and revitalize tap water. Its sleek curves and absence of right angles allows water to flow freely and naturally.

By combining the unique shape of an egg and the thermal properties of porcelain, slight temperature differences and unrestricted flow induce a biotic movement that prevents stagnation, discouraging bacterial growth and helping to revitalize water.

How it works

Pour tap water into the upper reservoir (4 litre capacity).

Gravity filters the water (within 20-30 minutes) through the AquaCristal filter cartridge (see below) suspended from the upper reservoir into the lower chamber. This unique glass cartridge contains layers of filtration media simulating nature’s filtration process.

The  OVOPUR’s main reservoir holds up to 11 litres (2.9 gal) of great-tasting, filtered and revitalized water, ready for dispensing.

Replicating nature, without corners and right angles, the egg-shaped vessel enables the water to circulate so that it does not stagnate.

An ingenious magnet moves up or down the side of the vessel to indicate the interior water level.

Simply pull the handle to drink!

Environmentally responsible, economical, and healthy

The OVOBAR and OVOPUR are made from sustainable, renewable and recyclable materials. By transforming tap water the OVOPUR eliminates the expense, inconvenience, environmental pollutants and health risks associated with bottled water.

AQUACRISTAL® filter cartridge

Designed to reproduce the basic filtration process of the natural water cycle, this re-usable multi-layer filter cartridge contains tried and true, first-class materials proven to filter chemicals and organic pollutants from drinking water. These include:

Activated carbon – obtained by pyrolysis and controlled by oxidation, to make it more porous, activated carbon has enormous powers of absorption – up to 99% of nonpolar, organic substances like volatile organic compounds (VOCs), phenols (chlorine), halogens (THMs), and pharmaceutical residues. It is excellent for neutralizing water’s taste and smell, and absorbs traces of certain heavy metals.

KDF55 – Made of copper alloy and ultra pure zinc, KDF 55 can neutralize up to 99% of chlorine, lead, mercury, nickel, chromium, and other heavy metals that may be found in drinking water. It resists the build up of bacteria, algae, fungi and scale. It’s 100% recyclable and meets the exacting standards of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Crystaline quartz –Natures own filtration media, quartz is n excellent energy amplifier and conductor and is used to remove any lingering impurities from the water.

Microporous bioceramics – these ceramic pellets are kiln-fired at high temperatures to create a porous surface and constant far infrared (FIR) radiation. As well as absorbing chemical or organic residues, active bioceramics can soften and energize water while reducing the size of its molecules. Far infrared can reduce water’s surface tension ensuring maximum hydration. It can also stimulate blood circulation and detoxification while preventing oxidation.

This filter does not remove healthy minerals from your water.

The lifetime of the AQUACRISTAL filtration cartridge is 4 months with a filtration capacity average of 2000 litres of water.
It is very important to change the cartridge every 4 months to prevent bacterial build up and pollutant overload of the filtration media.

The AQUACRISTAL is a one-of-a-kind filter cartridge made of reusable Pyrex glass. The spent cartridge can be returned so that the glass housing can be reused and the filtration media within it can be recycled.

Designed in Canada

Conceived by Quebec designer Manuel Desrochers, the OVOPUR is handcrafted from natural materials incorporating the age-old traditions of ceramicists, glassblowers and stonecutters. The resulting revitalizing water filter and dispenser is strikingly sculptural, embodying archetypal appeal in a functional form.
