Jupiter, Ionways, Enagic, Kangen, Chanson Water Ionizers

Who and where are these water ionizer companies and for how long?

Jupiter water ionizers are made in Korea by Emco Tech (aka Dong Yang/Royal Science) and has been in business since 1982.
Ionways is the brand name for their new ‘referral’ marketing division launched in 2007.
Emco Tech is a recognized manufacturer of medical equipment holding over 30 patents and multiple international certifications. Emco Tech ionizers are assembled in Korea using water cells that are designed and produced in Japan.

Enagic water ionizers are made in Japan. Enagic started selling ionizers in 2000 and merged with Toyo Aitex in 2001. Their current relationship is not clear (to this writer).
‘Kangen’ is a Japanese word which means ‘return to the origin’ according to Enagic’s US website. It may also mean reduction or deoxidation. ‘Kangen’ is not trademarkable in Japan just as a word like ‘natural’ could not be trademarked in an English-language country. For marketing purposes, Enagic has obtained the US trademark for ‘Kangen Water’ for exclusive use of this term in the US. It refers to ionized water produced in the same way as other ionizer brands.

Chanson water ionizers are made in Taiwan by the Bai-Yin Company which has been in the water treatment industry since 1979. In 1985 this company started importing ionizers from Japan for the Taiwanese market while simultaneously building its own team of engineers. It serviced other ionizer companies for 20 years. In 2000 Chanson launched its own ionizer brand into the international market. This company manufactures its own products, possesses multiple patents and international certifications. Water quality products are its exclusive focus.
