Earthing and Replicating the Barefoot Connection
Monday, April 16th, 2012Mother Earth is a living entity. Her surface supplies free electrons that energize and enable life upon this planet. Bare skin on bare earth is the natural and most efficient way that these life-supporting electrons get transferred to us. In recent decades, humans have become increasingly disconnected from this essential supply of energy by paving over the earth and wearing rubber-soled footwear. Earthing products are a simple means to reconnect with the Earth and the protective, life-boosting energy it provides.
We are bio-electrical beings. Each one of us has experienced the rejuvenating effects of walking barefoot in grass, strolling shoeless along a sandy beach or hanging out in a forest. Direct contact with nature profoundly discharges accumulated electrical stress while permeating our bodies with healing, negatively charged free electrons. This equalizes our body to the same energy potential as the Earth, our native home. Our internal biological rhythms and hormonal processes are normalized, as nature intended. Stress leaves and we feel good again.
The purpose of Earthing products is to duplicate these benefits of standing barefoot directly on the Earth. ‘Earthing’ safely enables this transfer of free electrons from the Earth to our body while we are indoors and otherwise disconnected from direct contact with the natural world’s healing impact.
Earthing products do not connect to or run on the electrical power that operates your lights and appliances. They plug into the ground outlet (third hole) of an electrical socket which is properly grounded by being connected to the earth. Free electrons from the earth pass through a cord attached to the Earthing sheet or mat. When your skin comes in contact with the Earthing device, your body is supplied with beneficial and restorative earth energy.
Direct skin contact is most beneficial for earthing, both in nature and with Earthing products. Our body is mostly water and minerals, making it a natural conductor of electrons. The skin is our largest organ, and a very important one, because it actively interfaces between our internal and external worlds. Free electrons easily transfer to bare skin. Electron transfer may occur through conductive clothing, if there is sufficient moisture present from body sweat. Bare is best.
When we make even a small point of skin contact with these healthy electron flows, our nervous system is calmed, our immune system is assisted and internal electron deficiencies are corrected, reducing inflammation. Better sleep, less stress, reduced pain, faster recovery are the result.
Reduced inflammation and rapid wound repair are among the many significant benefits reported by users of Earthing products. This is because Earthing has an antioxidant effect. Inflammation is caused by excessive, positively charged molecules called free radicals. Free radicals are neutralized when there are sufficient negatively charged electrons available.
