About Klean Kanteens®

Klean Kanteens are often imitated, but never duplicated. Klean Kanteen® made the first BPA-free metal bottles and they are still the best.

100% stainless steel. No liner required.

All Klean Kanteen® products are made from high quality, 18/8, food-grade stainless steel that’s totally free of BPA and other harmful substances. Because stainless steel is inherently safe, Klean Kanteen doesn’t need to coat the inside of their bottles with a plastic or epoxy lining.

Quality testing of Klean Kanteens®

Klean Kanteen® performs regular product testing through third-party, accredited laboratories in California to meet regulatory requirements and their own high standards for product safety.

Cleaning your Klean Kanteen® Bottle & Lid

Kanteen® Classic and Wide bottles in Brushed Stainless are dishwasher safe. We recommend handwashing colored bottles and Insulated bottles.

Classic Loop and Sport Caps, made of polypropylene (pp#5), are dishwasher safe.
The Café Cap is also dishwasher safe and the rotating piece on the top also pops out for thorough cleaning.

Wide Loop Caps with stainless steel on the inside should be handwashed.
Same with the Bamboo Unibody stainless steel lids that come with the Reflect Kanteens®.

An easy way to remember is that if your cap is all plastic and hollow on the inside, it can go in the dishwasher. Otherwise, handwash it.

For daily cleaning, just rinse your bottle with warm, soapy water and let it drain and dry in your dish rack with the mouth downward so water can drain out.

For thorough cleaning, you can use warm, soapy water and a bottle brush. We also recommend an old-fashioned cleaner: diluted vinegar or water and baking soda.

Wide Loop Caps for Wide and Insulated Klean Kanteens

The Wide Loop Cap that comes with your Insulated or Wide Klean Kanteen has a stainless steel interior.
Handwash only with warm soapy water.

Café Cap Option for Wide and Insulated Klean Kanteens

The Café Cap converts your Wide or Insulated Klean Kanteen into a splashproof to-go mug so that you don’t have to unscrew the lid to take a drink while you are moving through your day. It’s made from BPA-free polypropylene (pp#5) and is safe for use with hot beverages. Pop it apart into two pieces for easy cleaning. Dishwasher-safe.
